Our Story

A Texas meeting turned into a lifetime of endless love.

How it all began

It all began deep in the heart of Texas, the way every love story should begin. I was invited to visit Bryan, TX for the very first time. I had only ever heard of the town, but never been. Rossy’s church was having a praise team workshop, and I was their guest speaker. To my surprise, her family hosted me and welcomed me into their home for that weekend. Little did her dad know when he agreed to host me that we’d be falling in love hehe. I remember arriving to their home in the evening and going inside. The moment I stepped in, she was my first sight. I glanced at her and was immediately intrigued. It was a simple hello and a welcoming smile from her, nothing more. I was taken care of by her brother (Osbaldo) and we didn’t see each other the rest of the night. The following day, I remember being in the sanctuary just a few minutes before starting, when suddenly she walked through the door. In that moment I was slightly nervous. As she greeted her way towards me, I couldn’t help but notice her smile, her eyes, the peace and joy she radiated. Just before she reached me, I was mentioned in a side conversation by the person next to me and in the split second that I turned away from her, she was gone. She didn’t greet me. She kept going. I was piqued. As the day progressed, I began to notice her genuine personality, her passion for worship. As cliché as it may be, it was true, the way she handled herself was so beautiful. We didn’t exchange words that day. On Sunday, being my last day in town, I saw her and was all the more intrigued again! Once service was over, I remembered going up to her and inviting her for dinner and hangout with the youth group. Though hesitant at first, I convinced her to join us. When we arrived at the restaurant we ended up separated and the rest of the night didn’t get much of a chance to get to know each other better. Time flew by and it was time to go. The weekend was over. I had to head back home. I didn’t want to leave without a way of staying in touch, so I found a way to ask for her instagram. I returned home, and as the days passed, she stayed in my mind, until I found a way to reach out. Eventually we began talking and getting to know each other. Now, we’re getting married!

I met him on Friday, September 29th, 2023 when he walked through the front door of my home as I was cutting my cousin’s hair. We only exchanged a hello and left it at that for the day. The next day my church had a music workshop that was actually planned by my brother (by the way, thanks Osbaldo!). That was the reason why Aleksys was in town. My family was hosting him for the weekend and I didn’t even know! He was going to teach that morning. As I recall that day, I walked in to church only to realize I was one of the last one to arrive, so I proceeded to quickly greet everyone BUT when it came to Aleksys’ turn, I actually skipped over him!!! Unsure why I did so, I thought it was CRAZY right after. To ignore our special guest! OOPS. At the end of the workshop, I went home and we didn’t exchange any words that day. Sunday came around and he was preaching that day. As he did, I noticed how that young man was so talented, smart, and had a way to speak with his words AND that it felt like he kept staring at me! At the end of the preaching, he approached my mother and I and had the audacity to ask me to go out and eat with the youth. To his surprise, I said no because I had to work that afternoon. He eventually ended up convincing me (like I said he has a way with words). Once we were out with the youth group, we ended up on opposite ends of 2 tables and did not talk at the restaurant. Eventually he found a way to ask for my socials and 3 days later reached out to me. And the rest is history!
